Many companies are making an effort for data-based sophistication of management/company activities, although there are only a few examples of companies that have incorporated data in real operations and decision-making.

According to an ABeam Consulting survey^* about the status of data-driven management efforts, only about 23% of companies have been able to achieve full operations. Only about 14% stated that their efforts were successful. There are other cases of companies executing PoC but not connecting it to subsequent actions, or companies creating data analysis foundations they are unable to use.

Recently there has been a requirement to utilize non-financial data alongside financial data. It is important to identify effective drivers that improve corporate value (PBR) and connect these to the actions of a business department through evaluation and analysis.
