ABeam’s Support

Our two main initiatives to support WaterAid’s activities are as follows.

We will continue to financially support the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) improvement projects, as well as to expand our multifaceted support by leveraging the skills and knowledge accumulated in our core business.

① Skill Support (pro bono activities)

As part of our pro bono activities, we are working to support operational improvements leveraging RPA and review of information management, as well as promotional activities using social media to spread awareness of WASH issues in developing countries in accordance with WaterAid Japan's action plan. Furthermore, ABeam employees participate in WaterAid’s Speaker Club*2, utilizing their consulting skills to support WaterAid’s activities in a multifaceted manner.

*2 As one of WaterAid’s initiatives, the Speaker Club conducts workshops at schools, events, and other venues with the aim of raising the general public’s awareness to WASH in developing countries.

② Financial Support (corporate donations and fundraising activities)

We have been supporting WaterAid by corporate giving every year since 2013.
The funds have been used for the WASH projects in East Timor, Nepal, Ethiopia, and India, improving the lives of many people. In addition to our annual corporate giving, we have also been engaging our employees in fundraising activities since 2014 through the Osaka Marathon charity program. (See chart below)

In addition to confirming and verifying the results of our activities, we also conducted site visits to the recipients to share WaterAid's initiatives within the company through photos and videos of the recipients.

So far, we have visited Nepal, East Timor, and India, where we have developed friendships with the staff from local community organizations and with the project beneficiaries.

PARTNER'S VOICE

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at ABeam for their enthusiastic support since the establishment of WaterAid Japan. If we had not met ABeam, we might not have been able to continue our work to the present day.

While there are still many improvements to be made, such as the development of various operation manuals and the improvement of our staff's skills, thanks to the pro bono activities of ABeam's employees we have been able to build a solid organizational foundation necessary to deliver clean water, sanitation and good hygiene to more people around the world.

We hope our partnership stays strong as it is today and one day we achieve clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for everyone, everywhere together.

STAFF VOICE

I am involved in providing pro bono support (mainly operational improvement and research assistance) as a member of the unit working with WaterAid.
I find it engaging and rewarding to be able to get involved in support activities while learning about actual operations and the latest information on local support from the people at WaterAid Japan.
In addition to providing pro bono support, I have also participated in the Osaka Marathon and speaker training sessions, which have deepened my knowledge of social issues, including water-related problems.

I will continue to use the knowledge and skills I have developed as a consultant to provide the support that the people of WaterAid Japan need.
As a supporter, I would also like to actively challenge myself to join speaker workshops and participate in marathons as a charity runner.
