Zamami Coral Reef Conservation Activities

Supporting the conservation of marine ecosystems through coral planting

In fiscal 2019, we implemented the following initiatives with the aim of (1) contributing to environmental conservation, and (2) deepening our understanding of Okinawan culture and revitalizing the village of Zamami.

- Study sessions on coral and microplastics, and planting coral
- Making yushi tofu (fluffy Okinawan tofu)
- Meetings for exchanging opinions on issues that Zamami faces

An employee who participated shared their positive impressions, saying, “Not only did I become more aware of environmental conservation, but I also gained a deep understanding of Zamami’s charm and the issues that it faces. I want to communicate what I learned on this tour so that more people will be aware of Zamami.”

We will continue providing support for Zamami from a more multifaceted perspective, with a focus on environmental conservation activities.
