When considering DX (digital transformation), it is often recognized from an early stage that the lack of conceptions of visions or scenarios is a major problem.
Given the order to carry out DX, often a team is hastily formed by establishing a new department or transferring personnel from the IT or business department, without an internal consensus on the tasks at hand or the extent to which such tasks should be carried out, bringing the initiative to a halt.
Even companies already engaged in DX lack a common understanding of the extent to which transformation should be taken when striving to achieve a level of DX that will lead to business model transformation, often resulting in stagnation.
When considering DX visions and scenarios, first the definition of DX is problematic. What kind of areas constitute DX in the first place? We define DX as consisting of four areas, which define the perspectives for identifying issues for each industry and company.
EX(Enterprise Transformation)
Enterprise Transformation is the area in which companies analyze whether there are any issues from the perspectives of corporate business reform, DX human resource development for the purpose of productivity and motivation improvement, work style reform, and the like, by utilizing data to contribute to maximizing corporate value.
CX X(CX Transformation)
CX Transformation is the area in which companies analyze whether there are any issues from the perspectives of rebuilding relationships between customers and companies, digitizing customer contact points to transform the customer experience, reforming marketing approaches, and the like.
VC X(Value Chain Transformation)
Value Chain Transformation is the area in which companies analyze whether there are any issues from the perspective of the entire value chain for creating new business models and creating new value through collaboration between different industries, digitalization across industries, and the like.
SX(Social Transformation)
Sustainability Transformation is the area in which companies analyze whether there are any issues from the perspectives of social issues such as ESG and mobility, which will be widely discussed in the future, and digital utilization to clarify the relationship between these issues and corporate value.
DX is also a management agenda. Please take this opportunity to try to define future initiatives by inspecting your company and industry from the four perspectives described above.
