“ABeam Consulting” continues endless learning by driving “Saturday School”, reaffirming its focus on employee engagement

ABeam Consulting (Thailand) Company Limited, one of the leading global business and
digital transformation consulting firms, recognizes the importance of learning and employee development. It has continued endless learning outside the classroom in Saturday School Project by Saturday School Foundation. A team of employees with various skills and interest volunteer to share their knowledge with children in the BMA’s Educational Opportunity Expansion Schools, hoping that these children will grow up to become valuable resources of the Thai society.

Saturday School focuses on driving education by providing learning spaces that welcome everyone in the society to help improve education in Thailand based on the belief that everyone in our society can make a difference in education. The project encourages children to follow their dreams and make a difference in their community and society. Saturday School was founded by “Teacher Giraffe” Sorawit Paiboonrattanakorn, who began by inviting those around him to create “learning spaces outside the classroom”. Saturday School has been well-received by volunteers and children over the past eight years. Until now, the Saturday School project has developed into a Saturday School Foundation with many partners, including 50 schools and communities. It is run by more than 3,800 members of the core team and volunteer teachers, reaching more than 9,000 children. There are also many organizations and companies that support the Foundation.

Apilas Kraisittipong, Strategy Consulting Manager of ABeam Consulting (Thailand), said, “As an expert in digital transformation, ABeam Consulting believes that human resources are the most important resources, and we believe that education strengthens and improves our human resources. We focus on education-related social activities, and our partnership with Saturday School reaffirms our unique strength. We’ve partnered with Saturday School to invite our employees to give back to the society by passing on their knowledge to children in Saturday School. We also have the policy to support our volunteer employees’ meal and transportation expenses in this project.”

“Many children in Thailand lack opportunities and resources to access important knowledge which could define their future career, dreams, or who they become in the future. ABeam Consulting’s support is a significant step and marks the beginning of an effort to reduce the gap in our society sustainably through education. This reaffirms our core value to support our partners and society to succeed with genuine commitment,” said Apilas.

One of the employees who has worked as a volunteer in this project is Patcharaporn Karnjanopas, a consultant and analyst at ABeam Consulting (Thailand). She talked about her experience at Saturday School. “Initially, I was concerned that I would be too tired from work to be a volunteer. After I’ve experienced it, it is actually very energizing to meet people who share the same purpose – to do good things, and it’s such positive energy. I’ve had an opportunity to improve myself, such as working as a team with new people, and made new friends. The students are also very eager to learn and join the activities, which gives me so much joy. It’s a very good experience and makes me feel proud of myself. I would like to thank ABeam Consulting for giving me this opportunity and offering such a great life experience.”

Saturday School classes cover many different topics, from what children are interested in to paving the path for their future careers, including foreign languages. There are also learning spaces outside Bangkok. It is hoped that Saturday School will be an open space where people can make a difference in Thailand’s education by becoming team members or volunteer teachers. Public and private organizations can also contribute in other aspects. (www.facebook.com/SaturdaySchoolThailand)
