(“ABeam Consulting”, Head Office: Tokyo; President and CEO: Kamoi Tatsuya) today announced the launch of "Re+Innovation for SAP S/4HANA®", a service that promotes digital transformation (DX) on the conversion to SAP S/4HANA® by using process mining technology provided by Celonis SE, a major German process mining firm. ABeam Consulting sees the service offering as a driver to accelerate business process reengineering (BPR) by taking transformation to SAP S/4HANA® as an opportunity for DX.

 In order to strengthen competitiveness and achieve sustainable growth, companies must switch attitude from passive to proactive with IT investment, from maintaining and operating current systems to adopting new digital technologies and transforming business models. In its DX Report of 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan pointed out the importance of shift from the legacy systems that can be an obstacle for these advances. Meanwhile, the SAP ECC 6.0® system employed by many global companies as business infrastructure systems will reach the end of its mainstream maintenance in 2027, urging the conversion to SAP S/4HANA®.
 Taking on the task of this conversion, however, entails serious issues for companies. It is difficult to justify the cost-effectiveness of the transformation when a simple system conversion is made since there would be limited improvement for business process. On the other hand, system transformation with BPR would require enormous amounts of time and effort for grasping business process and identifying the issues.

① Visualize business processes through process mining technology
  Business processes are visualized from transaction and log data conducted through SAP ECC 6.0®. In the ordinary approach, the current state of business was grasped only through time and resource demanding interviews and through personal managerial experiences. Our service enables to capture quantitatively and analyze comprehensively in a short time frame.

② Proposition of business process improvement measures
We propose business process improvement measures against inefficiencies identified through process mining technology. It is enabled by our knowledge and experience accumulated from numerous projects that cover a wide range of companies and industries. In addition, return on investment (ROI) in the implementation of business process improvement measures can be precisely calculated, making it possible to specify its effect on the transformation.

 We use Clear Incoming Payment log data to analyze the rate of operational automation at each overseas subsidiaries in order to ascertain which companies require business process improvement. We also calculate the human resources costs that can be reduced with process automation at target companies.

・Companies adopting SAP ECC 6.0® are target for the service.

 This service includes parameter setting and data conversion operations that emerge during the conversion, advance production of standardized conversion procedures, and conversion verification by our team with expertise in SAP products and services.

 After the service is complete, we further reduce the workload involved in the post-conversion testing and go-live phase through automated testing utilizing a combination of robotic process automation (RPA) and process mining technology.

About process mining technology
 Process mining technology involves real-time analysis of event logs including company-internal transaction data and change histories, etc., enabling the discovery of inefficient processes and process components requiring exceptional processing or rule exemptions.
