Hometown tax donation program

Contributing to regional revitalization by promoting use of the hometown tax donation system

ABeam Consulting has conducted various activities for regional revitalization include supporting the recovery following the Great Tohoku earthquake, supporting the professional soccer team Montedio Yamagata, and support efforts for tourism and culture in Zamami Village, Okinawa Prefecture, and from FY2018 we have held seminars on hometown tax for employees.

These hometown tax seminars promote the use of this tax system with the cooperation of Trustbank, Inc., which operates the hometown tax intermediary website Furusato Choice.

These seminars provide an explanation of the procedure for using the system and an introduction of recommended items in order to increase the number of employees using the hometown tax donation system. In addition to useful information on how to use this tax system, these seminars convey the thoughts of producers and explain how hometown tax is helping to solve regional issues.

We hope that this will help employees understand the regional revitalization efforts of the hometown tax donation system which may be difficult to see by merely making use of the system, encourage them to consider regional issues and the importance of regional revitalization as their own personal issues, and be a catalyst to promote continual contributions to regional revitalization.

Although these seminars were held online starting from FY2020 to prevent the spread of Covid-19, over 100 employees have participated due to the recent rising interest in hometown tax, and to the fact that employees can participate from anywhere regardless of their job location.

We have received highly positive feedback in post-seminar surveys, and we will continue this initiative which enables the building of win-win relationships between regional areas and employees.
