Mitohama Beach Clean-up Activity

An initiative to preserve our beautiful oceans and foster environmental awareness

In 2006, we began a beach clean-up at Mitohama, since our Yacht Team had used facilities there. Since then, we have continued with this activity every year until 2019 (with the exception of years in which it has to be cancelled due to rough weather) with the Kanagawa Coastal Environmental Foundation, a Public-Interest Incorporated Foundation. After 2020, we have not performed this activity due to Covid-19.

This activity is conducted as a part of our environmental conservation efforts for three purposes: (1) Cleaning up the coast by collecting garbage (coastal beautification), (2) preserving the habitats of organisms that live by the shore (environmental conservation), and (3) sorting the collected garbage (promotion of recycling).

In fiscal 2019, there were around 120 participants including employees and their families.
ABeam has a deep connection with the ocean, including providing support for our yacht team, ”Team ABeam”. We plan to continue this activity as an opportunity to preserve our beautiful oceans and foster environmental awareness among employees and their families.
