ABeam Consulting (Thailand) Empowers Team for Forest Conservation through SEA Steps to Change Initiative

Bangkok, Thailand - ABeam Consulting (Thailand) is dedicated to fulfilling its ESG obligations by fostering sustainable organizational growth through the "SEA Steps To Change" initiative. This campaign inspires employees, both locally and regionally, to drive transformation from exercise through running, cycling, and walking, which will be undertaken to contribute to the collective effort of covering a distance of 4,200 kilometers, aligning with our established goal.

Mr. Ichiro Hara, Managing Director of ABeam Consulting (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said: "This project is a collaborative effort involving multiple ABeam Consulting offices across Southeast Asia. Our primary objective is to play a small but significant role in leading positive change for a better world. We actively encourage our dedicated staff to participate in this three-week exercise initiative in July 2023, which encompasses walking, running, and cycling. Our collective aim is to cover a total distance of 4,200 kilometers, symbolizing the span between Thailand and Tokyo, Japan—the global headquarters of ABeam Consulting. To strengthen our shared commitment with our employees, we've established a simple yet powerful principle: for every 10 kilometers achieved, we will plant a tree. This core concept serves to underscore the notion that each and every movement they make contributes to a greener and more sustainable world." 

Mr. Hara added: "With the variety of exercise options chosen, the ABeam Consulting Group in Southeast Asia successfully covered a remarkable distance of 10,206 kilometers. As a result, we are delighted to announce our commitment to planting a total of 1,020 trees, beginning in the lush green enclave of Bangkok known as Bang Krachao.”

Our inaugural tree planting ceremony took place at the Baan Bang Krasob Learning Center, where Mr. Natthason Pairoj, Assistant Head of the Khung Bang Krachao Green Space Management Center, provided invaluable guidance to ensure the sustainable growth of our newly planted trees, forming a thriving green area. We were also privileged to have the presence of Miss Duangjai Chayayon, Headman of Village No. 3 in Bang Krasob Subdistrict and owner of the Hom Pa Chak area within the Bang Krasob Learning Center. Miss Chayayon introduced our team to captivating activities for visitors and shared knowledge about medicinal plants, including the versatile Nypa Palm, which boasts numerous benefits and can be transformed into various products. Following this enriching experience, our staff actively participated in various activities, including creating tie-dye fabric and crafting decoupage fans using natural dyes.

ABeam Consulting (Thailand)'s SEA Steps to Change campaign is recognized as a meaningful endeavor that contributes value to our cherished planet. Beyond its focus on creating a greener world, this initiative has also launched a health project for the staff.
