ABeam Consulting built the enterprise IT system of Redbaby by using SAP platform. The system integrated IT bases that dispersed in 12 branches.
Tokyo/ Beijing/ Shanghai 2010/5/28: ABeam Consulting (Shanghai) Inc. and ABeam Consulting Inc. completed the development and implementation of an enterprise IT system for Redbaby Group. They announced the new system, enlarged throughout the country, began operation in April, 2010.
Background of Introduction and Outline of the New System
Redbaby, established in 2004, was devoted to provide consumers with a convenient way of shopping and quality products with low prices via catalog selling and e-commerce website. The products for sale have extended from one category (baby-care products) to comprehensive categories that could entirely meet the requirement of family shopping. As China’s largest multi-channel direct sales retailer, Redbaby now carries out product sales and promotions through a diverse range of channels, including online, catalog mail order, mobile phone, etc. Having greatly expanded its business operations these past few years, Redbaby has built up a cross-platform business operation based primarily upon its analysis of customer data, encompassing product sales, media advertising and multichannel marketing. Through its 12 subsidiary companies in China, it operates in 16 major cities and regions.
Redbaby chose the SAP retail industry solution as their enterprise IT solution because of business processes and functionalities which SAP provides. The new mainframe enterprise system developed on the ERP platform does more than just unify the IT infrastructure that had been dispersed among 12 different locations. It has also been designed with prime importance being given to emphasizing and enhancing Redbaby’s distinctive characteristics.
