SOLUTION
Working with the client, ABeam identified the knowledge and behaviors that would make the greatest impact, and designed a Management Development Program that allowed a large number of people to benefit from developing themselves and their teams with minimum disruption to their work. Against the context of the Insurance Industry, program content included:
- Personality and working preferences diagnostic to build self-awareness and flexibility of approach.
- Formal and informal presentation skills to building confidence and reputation.
- Communication skills, including negotiating and influencing, to raise the profile of the individual and the organization.
- People management and team-working skills to enhance working with others.
- Coaching to focus on individual development.
- 360 feedback, pre- and post-program, to evaluate development.
- Post-program team project and communication assignments to demonstrate learning and benefit from its application.
REAL BENEFITS
The program consisted of 10 modules and further coaching sessions over a six-month period. After the initial pilot, the program sponsor was so impressed with the increase in productivity of his team that he requested it be repeated for four additional groups.
