ABeam Consulting Opens System Development Base in Xi’an, China

TOKYO, JAPAN – December 25, 2008 – ABeam Consulting, a global provider of operational consulting services, today announced it has opened a development and outsourcing reception base in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. ABeam Global Development Centre Xi’an Co., Ltd. (ABeam GDC Xi’an) commenced full operation in October 2008, and is the second development centre ABeam has opened in China -- the Shanghai ABeam Global Development Centre (ABeam GDC Shanghai), the company’s first overseas development base, opened in November of 2004.

ABeam GDC Xi’an was established due to the growing demand for system development triggered by ABeam’s expanding business. This addition to the company’s local business bases makes it possible to conduct rapid system development at lower cost. Furthermore, ABeam Consulting’s business coverage in the Chinese market continues to expand as Japanese corporations move into the country. ABeam Consulting is strengthening its position in Shanghai, a coastal area that has been at the forefront of economic development, as a base from which to develop its growing business in China, and is seeking to establish a stable structure to provide a high quality service through cooperation between the Shanghai base and inland areas.

Since its opening, ABeam GDC Xi’an has been concentrating on system design and development in cooperation with ABeam GDC Shanghai, while ABeam GDC Shanghai mainly provides services involving ERP system adoption/maintenance required by client companies’ projects, customized system adoption/maintenance and transitional services from legacy systems. The GDCs are run by Chinese staff led by Chinese senior managers with support from Japanese staff as and when necessary.

As one of China’s three major academic and business bases for science and technology, the city now provides advanced IT technicians.
