CHALLENGE
Like all multinational firms, our client faced challenges in managing its global talent of more than 2,600 employees. A centralized Human Resource platform, based in its Asian headquarters, was needed to establish global operation standards and processes, to manage global talent and to improve operational efficiency.
WHY ABEAM?
ABeam was chosen due to its rich multinational enterprise service experience in Human Capital Management. It provided a total solution from business process re-engineering to implementation of HRIS.
SOLUTION
ABeam adopted SAP’s ASAP implementation methodology to work closely with HR and IT departments in the implementation.
This complex platform was phased-in in stages geographically: first in Taiwan, followed by China and Hong Kong. The project scope covers four HCM core modules: Organization Management, Personnel Administration, Personnel Time and Payroll.
The new SAP system has fulfilled the client's objectives:
- Unified HR system: ABeam worked with the client to remove the different old systems (including IBM R6, and locally-developed systems) and share the same HR system globally.
- Unified master data structure: This activity unified the group’s organizational structure and master data naming rules and conventions.
- Unified process: The objective was to consolidate more than 45 global personnel Standard Operating Procedures, including hiring and onboarding, change process, leave process, etc.
- Multi-site/company operations
- Cross-boundary people transfer and future merging
