ABeam Consulting Opens a Business Base in Europe

ABeam Consulting Ltd. (based in Chiyoda-ward, Tokyo; Representative Director and President, Kazumasa Nishioka) will establish ABeam Consulting Europe (the headquarters are to be registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands by the end of February, 2006), its first business base in Europe, and will begin to offer consultation services in Europe, mainly in Frankfurt (Germany) and Brussels (Belgium) in April, 2006. ABeam Consulting has thus far entered several foreign markets, mainly in Asia. The establishment of European practice will enable ABeam Consulting to accelerate its global expansion strategy.

Europe is one of the key markets for Japanese and Asian enterprises that are conducting or aiming to conduct business operations on a global scale.Therefore, an increasing number of its existing clients have expressed their desires for ABeam Consulting to offer the consultation services that it provides in Japan and other Asian countries also in Europe. At the same time, Europe based multinational companies, mainly manufacturers, are highly interested in the Asian region, including China, as one of the key drivers to achieve further growth both in terms of production base and as a market for sales activities, and therefore are seeking relevant business expertise to attain their objectives. For corresponding to such market environment, we at ABeam Consulting who have been promoting business in Asia have decided to set up an European practice to offer enhanced consultation services on a global scale.

ABeam Consulting Europe will offer consultation services starting mainly in Frankfurt, Germany, which is a manufacturing center where many automotive-related enterprises have their production bases, and Brussels, Belgium, where a large number of European enterprises are located. It will offer a comprehensive range of services, e.g., business process reengineering and IT strategy to support ERP implementation, targeting a variety o fclients in many different industries, e.g., Japanese and Asian businesses that are already active in Europe, European multinationals aiming to enter the Asian markets, and local enterprises.

To launch the new European operation, ABeam Consulting Europe has recruited two senior management executives, Erikvan Haaren and Doug Downing who had both held senior management positions in other large management consulting partnerships.They will build a client base in Europe taking advantage of the experience that they have accumulated while offering consultation services in Europe and globally for many years.

ABeam Consulting Europe plans to begin operations with about 25 consultants and enter other European markets successively, e.g., Switzerland, the U.K., and the Netherlands. It aims to have 200 consultants and generate an annual turnover of 25 million euros (about ¥3.5billion) in three years.
